Child Well Being

“If a child is to keep his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.”

- Rachel Carson

Why do we have

CHILD WELLBEING

CMS Child Wellbeing Department is the brainchild of our respected Founder-Director and Child Psychologist, Dr. Bharti Gandhi, and our President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon. With the vision of 'Making Every Child Good and Smart', this department was created to foster the spiritual, moral, and social development of children, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and secure in life.

Vision

Every child is a potential light of the world, and we work to build a happy, healthy, and safe environment for the child by:
- Providing an environment of care, warmth, and mutual respect.
- Helping students develop a clearer understanding and acceptance of life’s challenges.
- Offering freedom to explore thoughts and develop logical thinking.
- Encouraging SMART goals and proper planning to accomplish them.

Values

“Try not to become a man of success but a man of Values.” - Albert Einstein

Our Strength

We believe every child is precious and unique. As counsellors, we see our role as compassionate, supportive, and understanding facilitators. We aim to inculcate self-awareness, a positive attitude, strength, and resilience in our children.

Our consellors are:
- Professionally qualified
- Non-judgmental, accommodating, and accepting
- Supervised and mentored
- Endeavour to empower others

We at CMS believe that wellbeing is about children being confident, healthy, and happy. Wellbeing is an essential element of overall student success. Students may face challenges in achieving high academically if they feel unsafe and unhappy. They cannot reach their full potential if they have mental health issues without proper support. They cannot be their best if they are not motivated to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle, both in and outside of school.

Need for Child Wellbeing

In this rapidly changing world, students face numerous challenges and struggles daily. Issues over personality, career choices, and relationships with friends and parents greatly affect their lives. Being flexible and having a positive outlook on learning and life is crucial as it helps children become resilient and resourceful.

Five Ways to Wellbeing at CMS

Child Wellbeing

Survey and Research

To buttress the process of Child Wellbeing at CMS, a survey for all students of classes 7th to 12th is conducted annually. The findings of the Child Wellbeing Survey are analyzed by Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon and Prof. Nita Gandhi Forouhi. The survey provides insights into students’ behavioral patterns, health, nutrition, and other aspects, helping counsellors plan their actions accordingly.
