Tree of Wisdom: Elocution

As part of fostering creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for nature, we are thrilled to announce the Tree of Wisdom Elocution Competition for students in Class VI, Junior Category. This event is a unique blend of poetry, performance, and imagination, focusing on the theme of Trees.

Competition Details

Rules:

  1. Each team will consist of 2 participants from Class VI.
  2. The performance duration should be between 2 minutes 30 seconds and 3 minutes.
  3. The theme of the poem should reflect “Trees” and their significance.
  4. One participant will recite the poem, dressed in white attire.
  5. The other participant will enact the poem, dressed in a costume related to the theme.
  6. Props are allowed, but participants must bring their own.
  7. The performance will include live recitation and enactment on stage.
  8. A brief introduction to the poem and the poet can be provided, keeping time limits in mind.
  9. Original compositions are not allowed; participants must choose a published poem.
  10. Participants should only mention their name and school code during the performance.

Judgement Criteria:

The competition will be judged based on the following:

  • Expression/Voice Modulation: How effectively the participants convey the poem’s emotions and meaning through tone and expression.
  • Pronunciation: Correct and clear articulation of the words.
  • Memorization: Accurate and complete memorization of the poem.
  • Enactment: How well the enactment enhances the poem’s message.
  • Costume/Props: Creativity and relevance of the attire and props used.
