It is the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for students aged between 5-19 years. Its qualifications are recognized and accepted by universities, educators and employers across the globe.
City Montessori School popularly known as CMS, the world's largest school, is home to over 62,000 students and 3,500 dedicated staff across 21 campuses, including 5 Cambridge Sections in Lucknow. Established in 1959 with a humble start of five children and a borrowed capital of 300 Rupees by Dr. Jagdish Gandhi and Dr. Bharti Gandhi. CMS is affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and Cambridge International Assessments Education (CAIE), consistently producing top academic results in India.
Our motto, "Jai Jagat" (Glory to the World), reflects our commitment to fostering a harmonious world, and we place significant emphasis on holistic student development, moral character building, and providing international exposure. UNESCO Prize Winner
The UNESCO Prize for Peace Education was awarded to City Montessori School in 2002, in recognition of its efforts to promote the universal values of education for peace and tolerance at a time when these values are increasingly being challenged.
Guinness World Record
"The largest school in terms of pupils is the City Montessori School in Lucknow, India, which had a record enrolment of 55,547 pupils on 16 January 2019 for the 2019-2020 academic year." The school presently has over 62,000 pupils.
